1992
Hollywood first got a glimpse of then-model Anna Nicole Smith when the bountiful Texan made a red-hot impression (all 5'11", 155 lbs. of her) at the A-list Governors Ball at the Academy Awards.
1996
Four years later, the full-figured Smith went under cover in a velvet blue sheath at another Oscar bash. Mourning the death of second husband J. Howard Marshall, the noticeably heavier Smith told TV's Extra at the time, "All I did was eat and watch TV."
2001
An exuberant – and slimmed-down – Smith flaunted her shapely assets on the runway at the Lane Bryant fashion show in New York City. The spokesmodel had reason to celebrate: That January she was (temporarily) awarded $475 million from her late husband's estate after a nearly six-year court battle with her stepson.
2002
By the following year, Smith (at a San Francisco gay-pride parade) suffered a series of personal setbacks when her settlement was scaled back to $88 million and her weight ballooned. But by summer's end, Smith was back on track – landing her own E! reality show, whose premiere was watched by a then-record-high 4 million viewers.
2004
At New York Fashion Week, Smith showed off her svelte new figure in a body-baring halter dress at the Heatherette show. Attributing her weight loss to TrimSpa, the new pitchwoman later revealed on her E! special Anna Bares All that she shed 69 lbs. And her hard work paid off: In December, she won VH1's Big Makeover of '04 award.
2005
Though life was rocky for her at the time (a month earlier she was stripped of her $88 million inheritance) and would only get more difficult, a slender Smith kept up appearances at an L.A. movie premiere. Smith, who always knew her body was her greatest asset, once said of her breasts, "Everything I have is because of them."
