Ken Ziffren - Variety500 - Top 500 Entertainment Business Leaders

One of the deans of Los Angeles’ entertainment law community, with nearly 60 years of experience as an attorney, Ziffren remains busy as a dealmaker and adviser to the city of Los Angeles (new mayor Karen Bass reappointed him as film czar in 2023) and the DGA (which signed a new contract in 2023). He conducted an audit of “The Golden Girls” with Disney and made a deal for a new Peanuts movie that is coming to Apple TV+ in 2024. He reps Billy Walters, author of “Gambler: Secrets From a Life at Risk,” and Peter Liguori, executive chairman of VideoAmp, a company that measures streaming data. Aside from dealmaking, Ziffren teaches at UCLA School of Law, his alma mater, and continues to work with the Ziffren Institute for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports, which is based there.
