Mango Releases a Sustainable Denim Collection: What To Buy

Shopping for jeans is famously tricky. If you're anything like me, you've probably lost count of the number of times you've stood in front of your bedroom mirror wondering how you'll ever find a pair which fit actually your legs/waist/bum - but also make you feel great. A good pair of high-waisted jeans is hard to come by.
In recent years, Mango has become a firm favourite among members of team GLAMOUR when it comes to high street jeans. And trust us: we've tried and tested a fair few pairs. Mango's jeans offer everything we’d ever want in a good pair: they’re not too expensive, they’re always trend-led and they fit like a glove. Hallelujah.
Needless to say, the excitement was REAL when we heard the news of the brand's SS21 denim collection drop. And the excitement even realer when we learnt that the collection was sustainable. 'Cos let's face it, the denim industry is pretty bad for the planet - so if we can be green about our choices, we're going to be.
In true Mango fashion, the collection features much more than just baggy jeans, white jeans and mom jeans. It's also home to some epic denim jumpsuits, denim jackets, denim shirts and denim dresses. Seriously - that puffed-sleeve mini denim dress is to DIE for.
Every piece in the collection is made from sustainable cotton. Use of this material - which is sourced from certified crops and technical innovations with a lower environmental impact - makes it possible to reduce the use of chemical substances, water and energy. In fact, these innovative and more sustainable processes have allowed Mango to save a staggering 30 million litres of water across the entire drop. A solid reason, besides its stylish nature, to buy into it.
This isn't the first time Mango has made strides to be more sustainable. They began their sustainability journey several years ago - 2020 saw the release of another epic sustainable denim collection - and this latest launch simply shows Mango's dedication and commitment to a more sustainable fashion industry. They're well on their well the achieving their target that by 2025, 100% of the cotton they use will come from sustainable sources and 50% of its polyester will be recycled. Mango, we salute you.
