Police appeal for Wirral crash witness
Police think a woman caught on CCTV at the scene of a Wirral car crash where a woman died, could have vital information about what happened.
The Merseyside force says the woman they want to speak to isn't in trouble and wasn't involved in any way, they just think she might be able to help.
44 year old Debra Bayley from Prenton died after she was hit by a car as she walked along Hoylake Road in Bidston around 10.40pm on February the 2nd.
The potential witness who was filmed on a warden's body-worn video camera, spoke to police at scene but left before her details could be taken.
Collision investigators are now appealing for the woman, or anyone who recognises her, to get in touch as her information may be crucial to the investigation.
Sergeant Jason Higham from Merseyside Police's roads policing unit, said:
"I would appeal for the woman in these photographs, or any who recognises her, to contact me so we can establish what she heard or saw.
"She is not in any trouble and was not involved in the collision in any way, but she may well have witnessed what happened so it is crucial we get to speak to her.
"A female pedestrian has tragically died after being involved in a collision with a car late at night and we need all the information we can get to establish how it happened."
Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt Jason Higham on 0151 777 5771 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
